You may encounter problems when ordering medications and custom requests at the same time. Therefore in order to ensure that you order all of your required medications and custom requests, please select the medication you wish to order and then click on the "continue" button, at that stage you will have the opportunity to create a "custom" request. If in doubt please contact your practice.
If you are on regular medication on a long-term basis, you may be allowed to have a number of repeat prescriptions without being seen, although you will need to be reviewed at least once a year. You can order your repeat medication by telephoning the practice, by ticking the items required on the right hand side of the order form from your last repeat prescription and return it to the surgery in person or by post, or email the request (link). The prescription will be available for you to pick up in two to three working days.
You may collect your prescription in person or for your convenience we will post prescriptions to you if you provide the surgery with a stamped addressed envelope. You may also ask your local chemist to collect your prescription on your behalf. Most local chemists call at the practice several times a week and many offer a collections service for their customers.
Due to the very high number of prescriptions processed it is difficult to process urgent requests. Please help us by ensuring you leave adequate time, at least 48 hours, before you run out of medication particularly around holiday periods.
If you, or someone you care for, use the same medicines regularly, you may be able to benefit from repeat dispensing from the pharmacist. This means you won’t have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor or practice nurse every time you need more medicine. Talk to your doctor, local pharmacist or practice nurse to find out more about repeat dispensing. You will still need to have your medication reviewed at least once a year.
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
The Electronic Prescription Service allows your prescription to be sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice.
To sign up, you need to speak to your preferred pharmacy and complete a form to confirm that they can receive your prescription directly.
Once you have signed up, your chosen pharmacy will receive your prescription electronically and you will not have to pick up your paper prescription from us.
If you have already nominated a pharmacy, your prescription will be sent to them electronically unless you tell us otherwise. If you need to obtain a paper prescription for any reason, just let us know at the time of ordering.
This service is optional and you can continue to collect paper prescriptions as you do now if you prefer.
For more information, please speak to your pharmacist.
NB There are some medications which cannot currently be sent by EPS, including controlled drugs. If you are prescribed one of these medications then you will still be issued with paper prescriptions which will need to be collected.
